I now have two short stories entered in national contests, two out to publishers and one more ready to send out. The numbers don't lie. Ninety five percent of my successes as a writer can be laid at the doorstep of My LSS Writing Friend Forum, its editor Linda Barnett Johnson and its fabulous and talented members.
WE HAD SO MANY GREAT HAIKU SUBMITTED BY OUR WRITING FORUMS THAT WE DECIDED TO DEDICATE AN ENTIRE SECTION TO THEM THIS MONTH - ENJOY!
Haiku is a minimalist form of poetry. The writer has 17 or fewer syllables through which to convey an experience - usually in a 5, 7, 5 syllable format.
"The very first piece of work I ever had published was a poem written in 1975. Next came the "Big Drought." My muse went on an extended leave of absence and years flew by while I attended to such important matters as paying bills and work. Finally, when I retired, I picked up my pen once again and started to re-learn the art of storytelling. That was about two years ago. I joined a couple of writing groups but my experiences with them were, to say the least, not good. Then I found My LSS Writing Friend Forum. Yes, this is a testimonial. I can't say enough about this forum. It is personal, professional, instructional and most of all, FUN! Those of us who are fortunate enough to be members have all, I think, found success at various levels through the monthly routine of writing a short story, (2000 word maximum) and a poem. By the end of each month, every participant has given and received enough feedback to be ready to send their work flying on its way to eagerly waiting publishers." - Aelf
