Julie Gilbert has been a Christian for over a decade. While that makes her sound ancient, she's really a kid in many ways. She enjoys testing new poems on captive audiences such as family members and housemates. Ninety-nine percent of the poems she writes are actually songs, though she'll need to learn to write the actual notes some day. While writing has thus far only been an addictive hobby to her, she's considering making a career of it. She wishes she had ten thousand lives to live so she could try every career. When not writing or studying she likes to read for fun, blast video game characters, or hang out with friends.
"I write because it's a pleasure to wield words for the glory and praise of God. Inspirational fiction is good for the soul and science fiction stretches the imagination. I'd like to learn to write music so that I can reach those who may not touch a poetry book with a hundred foot pole. If writing remains a hobby, I'd like to continue to use it as a fundraiser for various non-profit organizations. If not, well then, I'll just have to learn to manage money wisely. (Also, if writing takes over my life I'd definitely wish for an editor and or agent; editing's the hard part by far.)"
